Is anyone here an avon representative? If so, can you explain how you got started, how much money you can make, and if it's worth it?

Does anyone know what the ingredient TALC does to your skin, and if Clinique contains that in their makeup?

by admin on Mar.27, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

Answer :————————
Talc is literally baby powder, it's used to absorb moisture. it's very common in powders.
I am a huge fan of clinique! I've used all their stuff for years, there's times I could sell the products to to the counter staff!
So clinique do powders to suit all skin types with no harsh chemicals it's suitable for the most sensitive of skins. They do a pressed powder, superbalance pressed powder it's for oily t zones and dry cheeks, most of us have this, I'm not 100% sure if clinique don't have it in their powders but if they do it's not a cheapy one. Go to the counter they will be able to help you, but as long as you don'ty put powder on directly to your skin ie without foundation it wont dry it out. Powder is used to set foundation to make it last longer.

Does anyone know of a real good mattifier or foundation that helps reduce oily skin?

by admin on Mar.27, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

I've heard that Murada mattifier sold at Sephora is a good one, but the price is $39.00. I wouldn't mind trying it, but if anyone knows of something cheaper please let me know..

Has anyone tried the dermalogica clean start products?

by admin on Mar.03, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

i'm really interested in purchasing the starter kit, i'm 20 and still suffering from acne. i don't know what else to do and i've already tried proactiv, acne free, etc. etc. i don't have severe acne, just light to moderate with a bit of scarring. the acne products out there are just so harsh on my combination skin, i end up half oil slick, half flaky and dry. not cute.
Answer :————————
i like clinique
i dont have severe acne either and their 3 step just cleans your face and gets rid of acne before it even surfaces.
its amazing…its a lotion, face cleanser and soap. :)

OR

try the loreal stuff. my friends <3 it!

Does anyone use/have CoverGirl's LengthBlast mascara?

by admin on Mar.02, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

does it work but most importantly is it worth the money? I've been wanting to try it for so long but i want to hear what you guys say before i rush to RiteAid :)

Does it make your lashes super long or just long? (because i want super long!!)
Answer :————————
I have relatively short eye lashes, and I can say for a fact that it didn't do any better than the next brand. But that is because my eye lashes aren't long, it won't add length at all.

If you want a good cheap drug store brand, I recommend going with Maybelline Colossal Volum Express. I find that I prefer my drugstore mascaras over my high end ones. What it does is it adds alot of volume, and lengthens. And to further your length, you may also want to put CoverGirl Lash Blast Length over top of that. Both mascaras are great, and they come in yellow bottles just for your information.

Can anyone recommend a good full coverage everyday foundation?

by admin on Feb.27, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

i suffer from slight acne scarring on my cheeks and mild acne all over my face. i have some redness usually and i need a foundation that covers well, but doesn't look like i have stage makeup on. i have tried EVERYTHING in the drugstore from almay to maybelline to revlon and i've even tried some department store foundations that never worked. i am so tired of shelling out cash for products that don't work. can anyone recommend a foundation for me? i have oily breakout prone skin and i need something that looks good enough for everyday use. price doesn't matter, at this point i've spent so much i just want to invest in something that works!!
Answer :————————
ohk lol, i HATED revlon colorstay too and i have skin just like yours. ive got a easy, cheap, longlasting, full coverage, non pore clogging, simple , easy to find solution for you :)

go to ANY drugstore and pick up a bottle of rimmel lasting finish liquid foundation. its a 16h wear one and its absolutely the best thing ever , if youve already tried this than another ide suggest is maybelline superstay liquid foundation ( NOT THE SILKY ONE) and if THOSE dont work. lol try loreal trumatch foundation :)
heres some things to make sure NOT to try. lol..

1. rimmel cool matte mousse.
2. maybelline dream matte mouse
3. maybelline dream liquid mousse
4. covergirl trublend liquid foundation
5. revlon beyond natural foundation
6.revlon photoready foundation
7. covergirl trublend whipped foundation.

dont try those because they would either clogg your pores, make you oily, or have sheer coverage so theyre a NO NO! lol good luck. :)

Anyone use Certain Dri?

by admin on Feb.26, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

Can I use regular Deorderant with Certain Dri? Like use Certain Dri in the evening then when I wake up use like regular Dove deorderant for like the fresh smell, or will it make the certain dri not work?
Answer :————————
Yes, you can. I do it. However, let me give you a little advice.

Don't use Certain Dri every night. It is harsh and can irritate your skin. I use it at night maybe once a week, and then use Mitchum in the mornings. And that works quite well for me. I've even found that using Certain Dri once at night every 10 days is effective, even though I shower each morning. The effect doesn't seem to wash off.

NEVER use it in the mornings before putting on your clothes. It can damage fabric. That's another reason why I don't use it every night. I decided that if it can harm my cotton, linen, and silk shirts, it should be used sparingly.
