Well for eyeshadow you should have three different colors. One color that is like between dark and light of whatever color that is. Then there should be a darker color for the crease and a lighter color for the highlight, which goes on the browbone. Maybe a quad would work good. They have many choices at drugstores and stuff,

Let's say you had a purple eyeshadow quad with three different colors. They also usually have directions on the back.

1. Apply the first color to the lid, and just the lid. Not above that.
2. Apply the darker color to the crease of your eyes, blending it with the lid color with a fluffy eyeshadow brush or whatever will work well for you.
3. The lightest color comes last, which should be applied on your browbone, for the highlight. (You can also apply this color to the inner corner if you want.)

For eyeliner on the bottom…
Pull down gently with your ring finger or your middle finger and put the eyeliner on your waterline. Then under the waterline if you want to do that. I myself prefer to do that.
For the top, on the lid, apply close to your lashline. Pull gently to the side to get the eyeliner straight.
