Costumes For Women ? The Choices You Have
by admin on Mar.27, 2010, under Womens Interest
It is usually easier to dress up women. This is so because, firstly, women?s costumes have greater variety; besides women can dress up as anything and not look bad.
Women find it easier to shop for costumes because of the huge number of sexy designs there for them. For men, the choice is there but a trifle limited ? also, women can appear sexier with lesser effort than men.
Since so many diverse options are available with you, you may be understandable confused as to what to wear for the party coming weekend. Before you sew, rent or buy the costume, consider the following queries:
What do you want to become at the party? Have you given a shot at impersonating someone, say a fictitious character or even otherwise? Perhaps someone like a movie star like Marilyn Monroe or Pamela Anderson or a politician like Sarah Palin could serve as good choices. There can also be occupation based options like the mail carrier, nurse, doctor or police officer. One may also bring to life fictitious, story book characters like Tinkerbell from Peter Pan and other fairies from a Midsummer?s Night?s Dream.
Can your costume be classified as sexy or not? Can you be bold enough to show off your cleavage or legs or any other part of your body? In an adult party, a sexy costume sets the mood right.
Could it be that you always had some character you fantasized about dressing up as? Perhaps you never got the right opportunity to wear it? Then the time was never too right for you to bring out your Cinderella dress, Baywatch swimwear or Elvira slinky gown ? you can wear them for a night out.
Contrary to what most people think, the best costumes do not always have to be rented or bought. Doubtless costume shops have more variety of any one costume than any other person you can think of, but sometimes, making your own costume, sexy or otherwise, can be fun, rewarding and a lot more unique. Plus, you get to keep the costume as a souvenir.
The women?s costumes can be very diverse. They may consist of:
1. Lives in bygone eras ? The theme may be the Renaissance period or the Hippy era ? for either one may find something from the golden olden times to wear to the party. Even when the theme is narrowed down to a given decade the same theme can be utilized. One may relive the 50s, 60s, 70s or 80s with poodle skirts, bell bottom jeans or gelled hair.
2. Another option includes the female superheroes or villains like Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Poison Ivy or Cruella De Vil which are all popular choices; they make the wearer very visible and have a larger than life persona.
3. Movie stars and other iconic figures ? Famous people are often unique in the way they dress and talk and as such they are a great source of inspiration for women. One may masquerade as Madonna in her 80s days or Marilyn Monroe in her famous gust of wind pose. Also as role models are prominent social or political figures like Jackie O or Sarah Palin ? dressing up like them will make your entry outstanding at the party.
4. Scary ghouls and witches ? A woman in a witch costume complete with her wand, coned hat and broomstick can look drop dead gorgeous. Elvira the sexiest witch can be a good option.
5. Typical sexy figures ? These include strippers, pole dancers and Playboy bunnies. The women?s costumes are very sexy and very revealing; they can also serve as parodies of concerned occupations.
Women are lucky to be able to hike up the sex appeal of their costumes more than their male counterparts. A little leg here, a little more cleavage there and the entire costume changes from a normal, everyday costume for a masquerade to one that is sexy, daring and enticing. To leave little to the imagination, you could also opt for a tighter fit to flaunt all the feminine curves you have.
Just a trifle creativity and imaginativenes is needed to make a modest dress look sexy. For instance take the poodle skirts and shorten them ? what you are bound to experience is a longer line of admirers!
Costumes allow you to live out your dream of being somebody else so if you are given that opportunity, go take it and make the most out of it.

by admin on Mar.03, 2010, under Womens Interest
If you are like me and built for comfort and not speed sometimes it can be difficult to find the right fancy dress plus size costumes. It isn?t enough to just find the right costume but more important to feel comfortable in it. I have put together a few suggestions of costumes which I think work well if you are a fancy dress plus size.
The French Maid
Even if sprucing up is not your thing, a French maid fancy dress plus size costume is sexy in any size. The puffed sleeve dress and mini skirt shows off your curves in all the right places, and a feather duster can be a flirty come on tool.
Renaissance
Renaissance wear works well in all sizes as well. The lace up frock of a town wench is far more flattering than a figure hugging garment. This works with a pirate wench outfit as well or wear a baggy frilly shirt. You can most times find matching men s costumes in Renaissance wear if you are looking for a costume couples theme and of course a man?s pirate costume is easy to find or you can make one up yourself.
Witch
Plunging necklines will accentuate your features and curves. Either have a floor length gown or a short dress which ever you feel comfortable in. Add a broom, a hat and a long dark wig and this costume is perfect.
Cleopatra
If you have ever dreamed of being an Egyptian princess, there are fancy dress plus size costumes in this design that come in all sizes. With a white dress with an Egyptian sash and gold accessories, you are set to rule the Nile. There are also many of men s Egyptian costumes as well, making this a good costume couples theme.
Super hero
Super hero costumes are a perfect way to have fun on Halloween. Quite often super hero costumes come complete with accessories. Many super hero designs come in men?s Halloween costumes as well so if you and your partner want to wear a matching costume, couples costumes like this would be ideal.
Gangster Girl
This great costume will also accentuate your curves. Stockings and a gangster hat can help you to finalize your look. Your man will easily find a matching gangster outfit for a costume couples theme. Gangster girl costumes come in so many styles you are sure to find one to suit you.
Sexy Nurse
You can compliment his outfit with a sexy nurse?s uniform. Like many sexy fancy dress plus size costumes, these are intended to show off your curves. Accessories with a nurse?s cap and a stethoscope, and you are prepared to treat his every ill.
Marie Antoinette
One of the classic fancy dress plus size costumes, the flowing elegance of this gown can hide a multitude of sins, if that?s what you wish. If you feel more daring there are shorter versions.
With a little planning, you can find the perfect fancy dress plus size costume for any Fancy Dress celebration.

Costume jewellery is a must have addition to any contemporary wardrobe. Not only are modern day production techniques capable of producing high quality, attractive jewellery at throw away prices, but to the untrained eye the end product is often indistinguishable from the genuine article. Here we are going to explore some of the reasons why you should consider costume jewellery as part of your wardrobe.
When it comes to variety, costume jewellery allows you to own a virtual treasure chest of bling. Whether your fancy is in earrings, necklaces, finger rings, bangles, toe rings, body jewellery, broaches, cufflinks, or even tiaras, costume jewellery is available to adorn every feature you might like to accentuate or even hide. Due to its affordability, any budget would allow you to feel and look a million dollars.
There is an endless range of costume jewellery available. From copies of classical designs through to the wacky and outrageous. Designers are able to flex their creativity and produce very unique pieces without the associated costs of bespoke design. No matter how unusual the jewellery you re looking for, it s more than likely that you ll be able to find it.
If you damage expensive jewellery, the likelihood is you can get it repaired or even replaced entirely, but usually at a cost. The total loss of expensive jewellery can be a devastating experience. Even if you re fully covered by an insurance policy, you may still incur some financial penalty. Costume jewellery, on the other hand, is more easily replaced due to its relatively low value.
A great way to expand your range of accessories is to pool your costume jewellery with friends and family. Whereas your best friend might be reluctant to lend you her diamond necklace, she s more likely to be happy to share her cubic zirconia piece. Its relatively low value means you re more easily able to swap with others without the worry associated with high value items.
Much costume jewellery is inexpensive enough to treat yourself and others without having to justify it with an occasion or special event. This means if you re out shopping and happen to come across a bracelet that you simply must have then you can have it without suffering retail guilt. Likewise, if you want to thank someone for a favour then costumer jewellery makes a inexpensive, but desirable gift.
Replacing an existing wardrobe with new outfits can be an expensive endeavour. Revitalising your favourite outfits with costumer jewellery can be a much more affordable way to achieve a fresh look throughout the seasons. With just a little thought, you can transform tired, old clothes into fashionable ensembles.
A great way to express your personality and mood is to wear costume jewellery that characterizes just who you are and how you are feeling. When you re restricted by uniforms or business suits, a little bit of your personality can still shine through. Over time, you can build up quite a collection of costume jewellery which would enable you to have a different look every day or just as your mood dictates.
Whereas you might feel obliged to get your money s worth out of more expensive jewellery. Costume jewellery is inexpensive enough to allow you to refresh your collection as the seasons change. If you do feel like a change then you can also swap your pieces with friends and family without worrying about getting like for like.
Owning and wearing stylish jewellery isn\’t just about imitating precious gems; diamond rings, pearl necklaces and the like. It\’s about having fun. It\’s about experimenting with styles you might not have considered before without breaking the bank. It\’s about adapting your look for every occasion and mood.

by admin on Feb.02, 2010, under Makeup Q & A
My bf & I are hosting an 80s theme party. We're going to be Pacman & Ms. Pacman. We're looking to do as little work as possible…so we're just gettin yellow t-shirts and writing pacman & ms. pacman on them. I'm putting a bow in my hair & we're gettin red gloves. How can I do my makeup ? Any other tips for out costumes? Pictures with your ideas would be great!
Thanks!

use really shiny yellow eye shadow with a black dot at the top corner as the eye? something like this, but obviously just use a black dot instead of all the black she used: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2097/2520461448_c61c90a40c.jpg
then a glitter liquid eyeliner above your top lashes would look cool. i would probobly go with black glitter but a light blue glitter would also look cool because of the little things that mrs. pacman eats turn blue i beleive. just throwin out ideas here! good luck!
