What is the difference between BB cream and foundation/concealer?

Hi all, I am just a little confused here. Is BB cream the same as foundation/concealer

Base is like a primer for your skin. It moisturises the skin, and prepares it for foundation, giving you better skin to work with. It also allows for better foundation blending, and sets the make-up so it lasts throughout the day.

Foundation is to even your skin tone and give your skin a really flawless finish. You match the colour to your skin tone, and use the foundation to cover loose pores and problem areas.

Concealer is used to hide and cover blemishes and imperfections, and to give your skin the illusion that it's flawless.

Powder sets the foundation and the concealer, and makes the skin matte. It also reduces oil and sebum production, and helps the make-up to last for longer.

sorry for so many questions but which is a great foundation sold in MACY's thats under $40 and has great coverage and which will not make me break out ( i have acne prone skin or sensitive skin)..i just tried MAC studio fix fluid and i got few small pimples already..so suggest a great brand other than MAC please..

I had the same problem so I took mines back to MAC. I would suggest clinique as they make their products for sensitive skin (but for me, since I have a yellow undertone to my skin, I couldn't find my perfect match of face powder color the color they matched me up with made my face look too white and the next color up would make my face look muddy; it might work for you, depending on your skin tone and undertone) I would suggest going to Sephora and trying either Tarte (they have a set with foundation, face powder, bronzer and primer), or Sephora brand, or even a drugstore brand. A lot of the other brands like Chanel are made for a more full coverage like the studio fix line (which can cause acne).

I dont really have much to cover, but I have minor blemishes and I want something to cover my face. My face is dry in some places and some are oily…

Liquid foundation- revlon color stay
pressed powder- clinique pressed powder

What do you do if the lightest foundation is still to dark your skin?

I use the lightest color of foundation and it's still too dark for my pale skin! Do you know what I should do? I read you can mix it with a moisturizer, but then it's more of a tinted moisturizer and i want more coverage than that. Do you know of any really light foundations/concealers? Help!?

You can use your regular foundation that is currently too dark for you. Then, you can set it with a 'mineral viel' (which is a white non shimmery powder). Loreal makes one that's great, and so does Maybelline. Apply the white powder as if it were a pale powder foundation. You can blend it more to fade the white color or you can add more layers if your face is still too dark.

(Or, you can buy a different brand foundation. Covergirl is pretty good for pale skin. So is Clinique).
