Have any mineral foundations worked for you?

by admin on Mar.03, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

I've tried mineral foundations and powders and none of them have worked so far. :/ I have lots of flat pimples that, no matter what I do, will not go away. I usually don't trust infomercials, but I'm thinking about trying Raw Minerals. So if you've ever tried it can you tell me how it worked out for you? Also, any other suggestions that have worked for you are welcomed to share. Thanks in advanced. :)
Answer :————————
Powder foundation works best for setting liquid foundation. It's not that great to use to cover up acne and such.

I recommend you try a concealer (Amazing Concealer is great (yes! That's a brand!) and so is Avon's concealer stick) to cover up your blemishes and then use either

1) e.l.f. mineral foundation
2) NYC mineral foundation
3) Avon loose powder mineral foundation

*They all work great, the best coverage would be NYC. It's pressed powder, even comes with a little kabuki brush! It's like $5.00, too! The only downside is it's pretty small, and after 10 or so uses, it cracks and becomes difficult to apply. I wore mine almost every day and it lasted me about 35 days!

What's the best foundations for acne?

by admin on Mar.03, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

Preferably drug store ones. I'm just looking for a foundation that won't clog my pores but has good coverage. Also, what's a good makeup/foundation remover?
Answer :————————
Neutrogena & Almay are the best drugstore brands. They're non-comedogenic (won't clog pores) and they are oil-free. Powder foundations seem to be a little bit better for acne because they have less greasy feel to them. Hope that helps!

Out of these 4 foundations, which should i choose?

by admin on Mar.02, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

okay, im torn between these two brands and their two foundations.
i have
1. loreal true match
2. loreal infallible
3. revlon colorstay
4. revlon photoready

ive heard good and bad things about all of them, and im torn.
i need a foundation with FULL coverage, because I have some acne and post acne marks that i want to cover. my skin is kinda dry in the winter, especially my pimples. and in the summer its kinda normal/combination. I also need a foundation that lasts until I decide to take my makeup off. I dont want it to slide off my face at raves and stuff. I always use a moisturizer and primer before i put my foundation if that helps. I also finish it off with a setting powder. I need a foundation that looks really good on my skin too. I like matte/powder finishes. I hear revlon photoready has a shimmer finish, and really, as long as it makes me look nice i dont mind. Im also thinking about getting a foundation brush too.
Which one of these 4 foundations do you think will cover my needs and my skin?
also, Ive heard good things about the CARGO foundation at sephora too. so i guess you can say thats 5 haha.

and also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NO MINERALS. They give me ugly uninflamed acne and blackheads on my cheeks so NO :/
Answer :————————
loreal true match or revlon colorstay. i also like the revlon whipped foundation, but it prob isnt the best choice for u
dont get a foundation brush, ur warm fingers will apply it much better, and a foundation brush might make it a little streaky
dont get anything w/ shimmer. it'll make ur pores better. foundation is made to make ur skin look matte and natural, not shimmery.
get a pressed powder to carry in your purse because whatever u choose, u will have to touch up
