Hair Extensions for Beginners

Hair extensions for beginners
Hair extensions can make you look like you have long, beautiful hair. They can also provide dramatic colors to otherwise dull looking hair. However, before you decide to opt for hair extensions here is a guide on selection, tips and risks involved.
Selecting the extensions
First of all, make sure to select an appropriate color of hair extensions. They must ideally match your hair color or be at least a shade as close as possible. Ofcourse, there are exceptions to this rule. Sometimes, you might want a bolder look in which case vibrant colored hair extensions are also available. This way, you can have a dramatic look to your hair. Other than color, you also need to select only the highest grade and quality of hair extensions as these last very long and do not damage easily.
Different techniques used
When it comes to application of hair extensions different techniques are in use. Glues can be used to attach extensions to your hair while non-glue techniques can also be used. There are also weft techniques of applying extensions in which case tracks are used onto which the extensions get attached. Then these wefts are attached to the sections of hair as needed. There are also clip-on extensions which are by far the easiest to use as you can attach these yourself. These extensions, as the name suggests, come with clips using which you can attach them to your hair.
Risks associated with hair extensions
Most hair extension procedures when done professionally in a salon are relatively risk free. However, certain precautions need to be taken when undergoing a hair extension procedure. For instance, proper aftercare and conditioning is critical as is regular washing of the hair. You also need to know that only clip types of extensions can be applied on your own and for all other types of extensions professional assistance is mandatory. You must also stay away from too much heat as it damages the extensions. So that means excessive usage of curling irons or blowdryers.
Pros and cons of using extensions
Just as anything else in life with hair extensions too there are the good and bad sides to it. Let
I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. What color eyeliner can i use to make eyes bigger?
by admin on Mar.27, 2010, under Makeup Q & A
Sometimes when I put eyeliner on, it makes my eyes look smaller. I don't know how to apply eyeliner so that it makes eyes look bigger because I always see mixed answers about using white eyeliner on the bottom and then i hear to use black so I honestly don't know. Help please? Any suggestions?
Answer :————————
hi, i have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes as well and my eyes are definitely not big. i wear brown Mac eyeliner during the day – not on the bottom though at all. i never wear on the bottom unless i am going out and want the smoky look. i also wear Mac's blue or green eyeliner. it does make my eyes look bigger. go with a color. also, Stilla eyeshadow in "Kitten" is great. it's white and it def. opens your eyes up.
What make up would go with my dark brown hair?
by admin on Mar.27, 2010, under Makeup Q & A
I just got my hair dyed today, and it came out a lot darker than I expected. I'm used to using my regular blush, eye liner, mascara, eye shadow, lip stick, etc. But, now after trying to use all of those products they look weird on me.. What would be the best option to choose now?
Answer :————————
Purples, Blues, or Dark Greens for eyeshadow.
Black or Dark Blue for eyeliners.
Red, Clear Glossy, Dark Brownish Plum, or Nude Shade for lipstick.
Black for mascara.
Use your regular blush becauseblush is supposed to even your skin tone, not complement your hair color. I personally wouldn't wear blush because it can cause break outs, but if you're used to it, nothing should happen.
Hope I helped! xD
Best Hair Extensions Types, From Clip on Hair Extensions to Bonded Hair Extensions
by admin on Mar.27, 2010, under Womens Interest
The clip on hair extension is one of a growing number of hair extension types. Depending on a number of factors and benefits, not all of these methods would appeal to you.
When you go about selecting what type of application process you want, you will need to take into consideration how long you are going to wear the extensions, to what type of hair you have. To make that kind of decision it is important to get an idea of what goes into each method, and then settle on what would be the best hair extension for your situation.
The hair extension applications that you will most likely come across are clip on hair extensions, bonded hair extensions, fusion hair extensions and weave hair extensions.
The clip on type involves hair extensions that are attached to your hair using a special kind of clip. Clip ons or clip ins are the quickest to apply to your hair, and also the easiest to remove, and therefore this type of hair extension could be your choice if you want your extensions in your hair only for short periods at a time.
An appealing aspect of clip ons is that there is much less chance of damage caused to your hair, compaired to other processes involving chemicals of various kinds.
If cared for properly, clip on hair extensions can last for a very long time. In fact, it is simply a case of treating these extensions as you would your own hair!
Weave hair extensions refer to the method where extensions are actually woven into your hair. This is usually done at a salon and involves using a needle to sew the extensions onto strands of your own hair. The tight weave needed to keep the extensions in place can make this process quite uncomfortable at times.
These woven extensions may need to be tightened from time to time to ensure they are still properly held in place.
With fusion hair extensions there are both cold and warm fusions. Fusion hair extensions have tips with a special type of chemical on them. Using the applicator gun on them causes these tips to fuse to your hair. This type of application is long lasting and usually needs to by reversed by a professional.
Bonded hair extensions make use of a special glue, and are usually attached to individual strands of your hair. As this is a chemical process, this type of bond requires a special remover to be applied at the time of removing the extensions.
With all these types of hair extensions, it is sensible to look at cost and conveniency factors involved, including the need or otherwise of repeat visits to the stylist.
Do it yourself hair extensions are gaining ground due to these and other factors, with excellent information available about do it yourself clip on hair extension, including how to buy hair extensions, taking into account quality, quantity, length, and also instructions on how to prepare your hair for the do it yourself fitting process.

by admin on Mar.03, 2010, under Womens Interest
Hair extensions are now one of the most common methods of making your hair beautiful and bouncy. Long and full tresses are desired by everyone. However there are a large number of choices to make from, it is very important to choose the right hair extension in order to make it as effective as possible. A number of salons provide hair extensions and people are bombarding these salons to get them done. It is also very important to remember a few points while before you actually get the extensions installed. After all it is your hair and you would not like to spoil it or damage it in any way.
1. It is very important to keep in mind the background of the hair stylist and the salon you?re choosing to get your hair extension done from. Make sure that the hair stylist has enough experience in hair extensionss He or she should be able to attach as well as remove hair extensions. This can be done by a consultation with the hair stylist. If the hair stylist is experienced, he/she will be more than happy to help you out with all your queries. The fact remains that hair extensions are very delicate and need to be handled with care. Therefore it is necessary to know all about hair extensions before installing them.
2. While consulting the hair stylist ask them about their previous experiences with human hair extensions. The better the experience with the stylist, the better your hair extension will turn out to be. Once they understand your hair type the easier will it be to administer hair extensions.
3. Sometimes hair extensions may not suit your style and face. However Indian hair extensions are installed in the right areas and accentuate the right features. While installing the hair extensions make sure that you know all the pros and cons of doing so.
4. There are different types of human hair extensions to achieve those sought after perfect locks. The most expensive and well known one is the ?virgin hair?. This kind of extension does not have to undergo any chemical treatment and makes the hair lush and beautiful. However ?European hair? is the most popular one among customers. It is very durable and can be dyed without any complications. It can last up to one year without any treatment and is cheaper than the ?virgin hair?. ?Asian hair? is best for someone who is looking for dark colored hair; this type is the least expensive among the three. However ?Asian hair? becomes coarse with daily use. Indian hair is the most recommended.
5. Hair extensions can be done in two ways, one for long term use and one for short term use. Short term use of hair extensions can be done by clip in hair extensions. Theses are a great way to add length or instant bangs to the original hair. Long term use of hair extensions can be done by weaving, or heat fusion. The weaving method is the most popular one. The heat fusion method requires regular visits to the salon and 3 5 hours of repeat procedure. Short term options are also cheaper and less time taking than long term method of hair extensions.
So there you have it, now you know some basics about hair extensions. You should be well equipped with hair extension knowledge. If you need more information just visit PerfectLocks.com for more information.
Hair and Makeup Need help?

How can I put on mascara without it bunching all up on my eyelashes? And how do I get it off without smearing it all over my face??
I wear my hair in a ponytail all the time. I need some ideas. I mean I could wear it down but I would have to take a shower first and make it sopping wet. And then I would have to put tons of gel and conditioner in it to keep my super curly hair from frizzing. But basically, I've only worn my hair up. So please if you could help me? maybe tell me a hair website. And how can I get it nice looking without products? I mean I'm only twelve it's not like i can just hop in a car with money and go to the store, and my mom doesn't have time O.O
Answer :————————
The mascara part really depends on what kind of mascara you use. Some are just not made as well and they clump up which we know isn't a very good look. You can run a eyelash comb through your lashes too to take out any clumps. Another idea is to take a kleenex and lightly do a few strokes on the tissue to get rid of extra product that tends to goop up. To remove it, well more than likely it's going to smear but if you're taking it off when you wash your face at night then just wash it off. You can put some makeup remover-eye safe onto a cotton pad and lightly run over your lashes.
Curly hair is always the hardest hair to deal with. Have you tried using a diffuser attachment on your dryer? That helps keep curls from getting frizzy. Just use your conditioner, a leave in one too if you can and then use the diffuser and dry your hair. You can also put your hair into tight braids and wait for it dry and then take the braids out. It will keep your hair from getting so frizzy. Maybe your mom would get you a flat iron so you can straighten your hair to make it nice and smooth.
How to Prevent Accidents Whilst Curling Your Hair
by admin on Mar.03, 2010, under Womens Interest
Curling hair is something that almost every woman has done before, and lots do on a daily or weekly basis. The effect that it has on the look of a woman is beyond doubt it looks great!
However, it s no easy task to curl your own hair. Handling an extremely hot instrument whilst also looking in the mirror requires skill and dexterity. It\’s far from uncommon to sustain burns to the ears as a result, and finding some way of preventing this would be welcomed by women everywhere.
Due to the potential consequences, doing nothing and hoping for the best is not an option. Most women simply use their spare hand to push their ear out of the way when the curling tongs are near it, but burns still occur when trying to do this; not only to the ear itself, but also to the hand that has been placed in the danger area. Some have tried wrapping their ears with cloth or tissue which, whilst somewhat helping, is uncomfortable and a lot of effort.
You can of course visit a professional hairdresser or beautician to have it done for you, but this, for most women, can only be done occasionally as a treat for a special event or party, not a regular basis.
Also, the risk of burnt or damaged skin exists even if a professional is styling your hair for you. Though they have more experience, accidents do still happen, especially a student or trainee be assigned to you.
This issue of the heat from curling tongs damaging womens? ears, and the sensitive areas around the ears, is not something that has gone un noticed by hair and beauty product manufacturers; indeed, a number of products have been released in the past as a response to it. Various wearable shields, guards and expandable combs have been invented to try help women to curl their hair safely.
However, whilst some of these products have been semi successful, none have solved the specific issue of navigating a curling iron in and around the ears. They have instead mostly been focused on protecting the forehead, scalp or neck.
For ears though, there has recently been a new product made available ear covers. They are specially made for the purpose and must just be taken from the packet they come in and then placed over each ear. Simple as they seem, they are perfect for the job at hand.
By using them, hairstylists, beauty schools students, and individuals who style their own hair, no longer have to worry about ear burns, discomfort from heat or staining the ears with hair color.
Though, ear covers are relatively new products in the hair care market, they are widely available already. A quick search on Google will being up plenty of hair care and beauty stores that have them in stock now.
They?re affordable and would certainly be welcome addition to any woman?s beauty accessories. They are also ideal as a small and unexpected gift for your friends and family members.
