Exploring the Beauty of Multi Strand Jewelry
by admin on Mar.27, 2010, under Womens Interest
When it comes to jewelry, layering is a popular trend that has remained in style for years. Whether it s a necklace or multi strand bracelet, the look of layers can provide a bold presence. If you re in the market for multi strand jewelry, sterling silver remains one of the most affordable options for getting a beautiful design without breaking your budget.
In terms of jewelry, the term multi strand can be used to describe a variety of styles. The classic definition would be one that incorporates varying lengths to give the appearance of a layered look. For instance, a multi strand necklace could feature a 16 , 17 and 18 chain so as to give the illusion that three different necklaces are being worn when, in actuality, the wearer has only one. Depending on the style that you prefer, you can choose from a simple 2 3 strand necklace up to designs that feature 20 strands or more.
The bib or drape necklace, another popular term used to describe multi strand jewelry, often features multiple smaller chains created to gracefully accent the neckline using a cascading combination of loops and drops. Because of the intricate styling and workmanship, these necklaces remain highly sought after and can easily be worn in a formal setting. At the same time, these popular styles can be worn casually with your favorite pair of jeans.
When choosing which type of multi strand necklace to wear, a significant part of the deciding factors will be based on the shirt that is being worn. For instance, a turtleneck will typically require an 18 or longer necklace. An open neckline, such as that found on a v neck, square neck or even a button up shirt will accommodate any length of necklace that can be comfortably worn and easily seen.
In addition to necklaces, multi strand designs are also a popular style in bracelets. The movement of flowing chains combined with the width created by using multiple strands will provide a flattering and bold look. Depending on the weight of the piece, it may be accented with an oversized spring ring or even a toggle clasp. These accents are designed to be especially large to provide a focal point for a bracelet or necklace. In many cases, these findings are perfect for a larger multi strand design.
If you are in the market for multi strand jewelry, sterling silver can provide you with an impressive look at an affordable price. Because it ranges from 2.5 to 2.7 on the scale of hardness, it is stronger than some types of gold. As you can see, sterling silver is both durable and can allow for a larger jewelry collection at a more feasible cost.
When shopping for multi strand jewelry online, look for a retailer who specializes in your precious metal of choice for the best selection. If sterling silver is your favorite, you may even be able to find additional styles that will catch your eye. And best of all, you won\’t have to spend a fortune to get an impressive jewelry collection, but it will certainly look as though you did.
Complementary make up colors for multi-colored eyes?
by admin on Feb.25, 2010, under Makeup Q & A
I've been trying to figure out complementary eyeshadow colors to go with my eye color because I am getting married soon and I want my make up to be PERFECT! lol. The problem is, my eyes are multi-colored and as far as I've seen, there are no guides for colors to match eyes like mine :/ Only the standard green, blue, or brown. My eyes are dark blue on the outer ring, blue/green on the larger part of the iris, and they have a yellow ring around the pupil.
Does anyone know which color that would make them really stand out??
Thanks in advance,
Sierra :]

The best place I have found for makeup tips is http://www.examiner.com/x-29020-Rochester-Makeup-Examiner. There's lots of articles there that cover lots of different makeup woes. There's articles about finding the best colors to make your eyes pop, there's articles for how to apply eyeliner right, how to make pale skin pop, how to use colored mascara, how to do smoky eyes, and much much more! That would be the first place I would look.
Smith\’s Rosebud Salve
by admin on Jan.30, 2010, under Beauty Tips
I picked up my tin of this from the pick n' mix at Sephora, and it is now my daily lipgloss of choice. It's an American classic I'd never heard of, being foreign, so you will no doubt be aware already of the details: $6, multi-purpose, everyone loves it. What I love about it is wearability with my very pale skin. Lipstick always looks like a Big Loud Deal on me, and and even fairly clear lipgloss always has to be very carefully balanced with whatever is happening with my eyes. Rosebud salve just gives little polish and prettiness, goes with any eye look, and also prevents dryness, which I am completely neurotic about. It's also the best thing I know for putting on your eyebrow brush.
So yeah, good stuff.
