I\’m in sunny Miami for the filming of the Victoria\’s Secret Fashion Show tomorrow night. I\’ll be backstage with models and makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, as well as with a bunch of other great beauty bloggers who are enjoying the whole event compliments of Victoria\’s Secret. We\’re all staying at the newly renovated, gorgeous Fontainebleau, where the whole show will take place.

I\’ll also be shooting backstage footage, which I won\’t post until the day the show airs on CBS. But check back tomorrow night for behind the scenes live blogging and general lingerie- and beauty-related hotness.

Charlotte Tilbury, she of unbelievably luminous alabaster skin and tumbling strawberry blonde locks, did an inspiring job as the makeup director of this year\’s Victoria Secret Fashion Show. On Saturday morning at the newly refurbished Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, she gave all of the beauty editors a thorough run-through of the concept and execution for the look, which was Back to Glamour. (NOTE: Victoria\’s Secret paid for my hotel room in Miami for two nights, gave me a big Pink bag full of products and clothes, and also treated me unbelievably well as I wasn\’t feeling so great during the weekend. Huge thanks to Alison, Yasmin and Adriane for all their help!)

The look, Charlotte told us, was inspired by Bambi: Lots of soft pinks and peaches, with tons of lower lash mascara, combined with warm, tanned faces and shimmery limbs well treated with products from the Victoria\’s Secret Bare Bronze line. To avoid cheapening the look, black eyeliner was avoided in favor of chocolate shades.

I was backstage before the show, with Heidi, Adriana, Miranda and the rest of the angels, and the look was just plain pretty. I almost always think that bronzer looks tacky and fake, but somehow Charlotte\’s team managed to keep the glamour on the classy side. (Imagine having multiple people work on your face, arms and legs, and hair at the same time. We might all look more angelic with that kind of help.)

Adriana Lima, pictured at right as she was prepped for the show, doesn\’t need a lot of help in terms of getting a healthy boost of color. But she and the other darker skinned girls were going crazy for the shimmering body products that the makeup artists used to give their legs definition and high-beam reflection. Obviously these models would look amazing with no products whatsoever, but this is a fashion show: When you\’re under those stage lights, walking a catwalk, you really want to go for it.

I got some great backstage videos of the angels getting prepped for the show, including footage of the models scarfing chocolate cake between lipstick touch-ups and other fun shots. (I\’ll post them when the show has aired on CBS.) The overall atmosphere of the entire event was indulgent and fun – a mood I think we might all find refreshing in current circumstances. None of us may be in the market for a $5 million Fantasy Bra, but a $22 palette of gorgeous multi-color blush – which was the product all the editors oohed and aahed over – might give us just as much of a boost right now.
