What to Consider When Choosing a Tux Rental?
by admin on Mar.03, 2010, under Womens Interest
So you?re considering a tux rental instead of purchasing a formal suit for yourself? It?s a good choice. A tux rental will allow you to wear the latest style in tuxedo with just a small investment. If you were to buy a tux, you?d need to spend considerably more for a suit that may go out of style before you get a chance to wear it again.
If you?ve never worn a tux rental before, then you?re going to want to pay special attention to what the sales associates says about wearing it. There may be aspects to the formal suit that you won?t know how to put on correctly without this guidance. For example, special buttons and cufflinks can be a real challenge to use if you?ve never used them before. Watch how the sales associate knots the tie and puts on the cummerbund so that you?ll know what to do when you have to put the tux rental on yourself.
Try to get your tux rental about four to eight weeks before your wedding. This leaves lots of time to get the best selection possible as well as make your style choice. It also provides some time for any alterations if they?re required. Alterations are done about a week before you actually need the tux. After your wedding day, get a trusted friend or groomsmen to return the tuxedo to the store if you can?t make it yourself. You?re rarely required to dry clean the rental, but you should still put effort into making sure it doesn?t get too dirty. You will be charged if the tux is damaged or if the return is excessively late.
If you can, it?s ideal to get a sales associate from your chosen tux rental store to measure you. This guarantees that you?ll get the best fit possible. There?s simply too much of a chance of getting the wrong measurements if you try to do the measuring yourself. Expect the associate the measure your chest including and excluding your arms. You?ll also be measured around your bottom and hips and around your naked waist at belt height. Your neck circumference will be measured to help fit you for a shirt and your sleeve length from the middle of your back will also be measured.
Finding a tux rental store isn?t difficult. You can simply do a search through the pages of your local phone book. Sometimes an online search will produce results too. If you?re doing an online search, make sure you narrow down your results to tux rental shops within your area. If you don?t, you?re likely to get a fabulous assortment of great stores that won?t be able to service you because you?re outside their service area.
It is better to choose rental shops in multiple locations, especially if you have multiple groomsmen that all need to be dressed the same way. This way you can be guaranteed that they?ll be enough identical tuxes to dress everyone the same. If a store has multiple locations, it?s easy for one store to get a tux rental from another store if they don?t have enough of the same style in stock.
Still Buying Skin Care Products at the Drug Store? Read This.
by admin on Feb.27, 2010, under Womens Interest
Sure, we like the drug store, it\’s full of stuff to buy — and some of them even sell food and drinks and other great things. But when it comes to skin care, should we stick with them?
Here are 5 reasons why an online solution is far more ideal.
#5: All the prices are simply way lower.
This applies to virtually every online store, but especially in the world of markup-heavy skin care products — you will simply find cheaper prices online, bar none. There are no storefront costs, no heavy staffing prices, and no in-store brand competition with \’no-name\’ drugstore brands, which drives up major brand pricing further.
#4: Drug Stores are Stuck Carrying Major Brands.
Speaking of the major brands, drug stores are generally stuck carrying just those ones. If you\’re a smaller company who has discovered a revolutionary new way to care for your skin, there\’s little chance you\’ll make it into the big shops without a major conglomerate behind you. If you want real, honest products, stick with an online setup.
#3: Online Skin Care Products Can Be Offered From a Specialized Store.
Drug stores exist to serve dozens of customers with hundreds of needs. Are you sure you\’ll be able to get the right product at the right price, specifically to care for your skin? There aren\’t many skin-care stores you can find in your average mall, but there are plenty of great specialty shops online dedicated only to that.
#2: Avoid the Embarrassment.
If you\’ve got some serious skin care issues, no matter how sympathetic the person at the counter might be, it can still be painful to go into a drug store and buy (or worse, ask about) a product to treat your skin. If you order online, you can take advantage of the anonymity of the internet and save your ego from getting bruised.
#1: Do Your Research Online, Then Order Immediately.
A good skin care solution is one that involves your dermatologist and then a concentrated effort to go over all your options, making sure the one that works for you is safe, will not negatively effect your skin, and is the right product that you need. There are simply more options available online, and you can comparison shop the specific product you want.

Dollar Store returns?
by admin on Feb.02, 2010, under Makeup Q & A
Does the Dollar stores let you return items you bought? Do they do a refund or is it a store credit thing?
I saw these Maybelline cosmetics there and I want to try it but I'm not sure how it looks on me yet so I just wanted to see if I can return it if it doesn't work out for me or not.
I don't care if it's just a dollar. It's still money.
I don't care if it's dollar tree. They do have good deals on brand name cosmetics.
Answer :————————
I don't know if Dollar Tree does any returns, but What Maybelline products are you talking about? Maybe you mean some of the Dream Mousse stuff that they now sell at Dollar Tree. If you're thinking about purchasing the Dream Mousse shadows, forget about it. They're crap. They'll look great as a single shadow, but have zero blending abilities. The Dream Mousse blushes are pretty good, and the bronzer isn't so bad either.
Security in Jewelry Stores and Pawn Shops
by admin on Feb.02, 2010, under Womens Interest
It is well known that pawn shops and similar stores can be risky businesses; with a large stock of small, valuable objects and large amounts of cash on hand, they make attractive targets for opportunistic thieves. If you have opened a jewelry store, pawn shop, or a similar retail location with many small and valuable objects on display, be sure to consider safety aspects, not only to prevent theft but also to keep your employees out of harm s way.
It has been shown that the economy also impacts property crimes, particularly burglaries. As the economy slumps, some turn to thievery to get extra cash. Others rob jewelry stores and pawn shops for the thrill. Whatever the reason, you must take steps to protect your business inventory and your employees.
The first step, of course, is to make your business less of a target for burglars. This includes simple steps like adequate outdoor lighting and thick deadbolts on a sturdy door. Depending on the neighborhood, you may opt for bars on the windows. These measures make your store more difficult to break into, and will make many potential thieves decide on a different target.
Cameras are a must have addition to any retail security strategy, particularly when you have small, valuable items that could easily be stolen. Whether dummy or real, a camera gives potential thieves the appearance that they are being watched. This is a powerful psychological deterrent, and will probably result in would be thieves choosing an easier target, where they won t get caught in the act. In this context, security cameras are one of the most effective weapons in preventing theft. These security cameras should be installed both inside and outside your store, near any large groupings of valuable and small items that may have a tendency to ?walk away? otherwise.
As far as security systems are concerned, either install a building alarm system, or place door and window alarms on every potential access point. These alarms beep loudly when opened, calling attention to the situation. Similar devices can also be used inside the store. If you have valuable merchandise in glass cases, small alarms can keep the cases from being opened by potential thieves.
Personal alarms have a third use, and that is as panic buttons for your employees. If someone threatening comes into the store, they can press this button to alert others. This is particularly helpful if you have employees working in the back of the store, where they may be oblivious to anything going on up front. If there is the potential for all employees to be in the back room at one time, install a door chime to alert you to a customer s entrance. This is simply a good customer service practice, in addition to preventing people from stealing from your unattended store.
Depending on your overall security strategy, you may want to provide additional methods for your employees to protect themselves. TASER devices, pepper spray, and stun guns all make sensible choices for self defense. While you probably don t want to arm employees with guns, these devices are non lethal and easy for anyone to use with very little training or experience. Your employees can remain safely behind the counter while diffusing the threat.
If you don t want to subject your employees and your expensive jewelry to possible burglaries and theft, you must take steps to install security measures, such as cameras and alarms, along with having a clear plan for how employees should respond to theft, including the possibly of armed burglars.
A Diamond That?s Hers to Keep
by admin on Jan.30, 2010, under Womens Interest
When a man walks through the doors of a jewelry store and inquires about a diamond engagement ring, a wise jewelry store owner simply knows that it is a matter of great importance. This man means business.
By business we mean not only a material exchange between them but a quiet acknowledgment that the store is participating in an endeavor as life changing and serious as a forthcoming commitment.
Jewelry stores get known not only for the variety of jewelry and prices they offer but also for the quality and reliability of services they provide. This reputation should be as solid and timeless as the metals and gemstones it sells. Store personnel should be thorough and conscientious in inspecting that all goods they issue are of impeccable quality and that every ring they release should be the one bought and ordered. In case of error, which should be practically nil given the sensitive nature of their business, they should nonetheless be courteous and considerate in their requests.
Customers like this man trust a store with their money?s worth. They consult the store on choices of rings based on karat, cut, color, and clarity. The enthusiasm and conviction of an experienced owner rubs off on the sentiments of this man, and together they reach a consensus on the perfect diamond ring for the occasion. Whether they do realize it or not, these two parties have commemorated one of life?s monumental decisions in such a tiny package as a box with a band with a promise that this man carries home.
An engagement ring gets known for its authenticity. The ring this man now bears carries the stamp of excellence. It is backed by a certificate of authenticity stating its exact description, value, and specifications not only for insurance purposes but also in case of replacement. The purchase is covered by a lifetime warranty and a return policy good for 30 days wherein the ring may be inspected by the buyer and confirmed to be in good order or may be returned by him for any plausible reason.
No one inspects the ring better than the fianc
