Everyone Can Have Beautiful Pale Skin
by admin on Mar.27, 2010, under Womens Interest
Practically anyone can have beautiful pale skin, if they simply make an effort to avoid the sun. Everyone has some ?color?. But, it is exposure to UV rays from the sun that causes the color to darken, because of increased melanin production. You can reverse the process, if you want, with a few simple steps.
Limiting sun exposure is always the first step. Exposure to UV rays increases your risk of cancer, causes uneven pigmentation and contributes to a generally aged appearance. The underlying cause is free radical damage.
Free radicals are molecules naturally present in the cells of the body. One of their functions is to destroy invading pathogens, like bacteria. But, when exposed to UV rays, their behavior becomes frenzied. They start to attack the cellular membranes and eventually the DNA strands, which can mutate, causing the cell to become a cancer cell.
Researchers have found that as we age, the number of free radicals within the cells increase, while the number of antioxidants, which could neutralize them, decrease. It is essential that we correct that imbalance.
Limiting sun exposure is the first step to beautiful pale skin. Using antioxidant rich creams is the second. Although antioxidants do not have a direct lightening effect, they will reduce age spots, repair sun damage and even out pigmentation with regular use. The antioxidant to look for, because it has proven effectiveness, is coenzyme Q10.
The third step is to look for an antioxidant rich cream that also contains a protein called keratin. It has been shown to stimulate the production of new cells. If sun exposure is severely limited, the new cells will be lighter in color. Within 4 6 weeks, you should start to see a difference.
The fourth step for beautiful pale skin is to look for an antioxidant rich cream that contains the protein keratin and an ingredient called cyperus rotundus extract. Cyperus rotundus is a medicinal plant. The roots have been used for thousands of years to reduce irritation and inflammation, as well as to heal and fade bruises.
In modern times, the extracts have been marketed as anti irritants. Only recently was it discovered that the anti irritant inhibits melanin production by over 40 at a .5 concentration.
When you go shopping for a product, you must be careful to avoid creams containing hydroquinone. It also inhibits melanin production, but is accompanied by an increased cancer risk. You may want beautiful pale skin, but you certainly don?t want skin cancer.
Hydroquinone has been banned from cosmetics by countries in the European Union, but manufacturers in the US are still allowed to use it. It is a common ingredient in expensive age spot creams. Please be sure to avoid it.
There are many things that we may not be able to avoid, such as air pollution and toxins in the environment. But, we can easily avoid creams, lotions and other cosmetics that contain cancer causing agents and other toxins. We just need to be aware that they are there. Now that you know the secrets to beautiful pale skin, you might want to learn more about cosmetic ingredients to avoid. It?s worth your time.
30 Days to Great Skin
by admin on Mar.03, 2010, under Womens Interest
Blotchy, dull, listless, craggy, aging, blemished ?
Do any of those adjectives describe your skin? Does your skin just not quite have that youthful glow it used to? Maybe you have a few too many blemishes and you are afraid to go outside of the house without your cover up.
Well hopefully after you finish reading this article you will have the knowledge and the tools to free you from your listless skin and allow you to put that cover up away.
The first thing that you need to do is reassess your eating habits. You know that old saying ?you are what you eat?? Well it?s kind of true. What you eat has a dramatic impact upon your overall body functioning ? if you are taking in a lot of acidic and salty foods chances are you are damaging your skin. If you are not getting the right kinds and amounts of minerals and vitamins you are definitely doing more harm to your skin than good. Taking multi vitamins and other supplements is a good way to get started, but our bodies flush out the majority of vitamins taken this way.
Nothing can replace good old fashioned home cooked meals. Raw veggies and fruits will do your body much more good than any multi vitamin ever will. If you are having problems with your skin increase your consumption of Folic acid (spinach is a great source for this) and omega acids (salmon and tuna are loaded with omega 6). Increasing your consumption of these two types of food alone will have a dramatic impact upon your skin quality in 30 days or less.
This next tip is going to surprise some people. If you want better skin get out in the sun, or spend some time in a tanning salon! The sun has gotten a bad rap over the past decade or so, some of it is justified, but the anti sun crusade has gone way too far. The sun is not your enemy. There is a reason why most plants need to bathe in the sun to survive. Those sun rays are life giving! If you have skin problems there is a very good chance you have a vitamin D deficiency. Do you know what the greatest source of vitamin D is?
You guessed it: The sun.
The trick here is to not over expose yourself to the sun. When you go out and sun bathe put on a good lotion that will help you absorb the good benefits of the sun while blocking out some of the damaging UV rays and helping your skin re nourish itself with vitamins and moisture that gets depleted by sun exposure. Any good tanning salon will sell lotions that are designed for this, yes they are a little bit on the expensive side, but they are well worth the price and should last for a longtime (unless you are tanning every day which would be way too much!)
With these two tips alone ? Changing your diet and increasing your exposure to the positive benefits of the sun, you will rejuvenate your skin and look 10 years younger in just a handful of weeks.

Finding Slick Visor Shades Among Many Sunglasses
by admin on Feb.02, 2010, under Womens Interest
Something about a pair of sunglasses makes them arguably one of the most essential accessories of all time. Not only are they incredibly practical because they offer protection from the dangers of the sun, they are an enormously diverse fashion accessory, available in an amazing ray of styles, colors and prices. These are made to suit every pocket. Because they have worldwide popularity, sunglass manufacturing has become a very lucrative, but incredibly competitive industry. While some manufacturers rise and fall in the eye of consumers, there is one company that remains forever defined as a company with eyeglasses that protect eyes from the rays of the sun: Ray Ban
It is a common myth that Benjamin Franklin invented eyeglasses (although he did develop the first bifocal lens in the 1780 s). The first glasses were developed in Italy, possibly as early as 1260. Later, British scientist James Ayscough began to research tinted glass. Despite how successful he was, it was not until 1929 that the idea that glasses could filter the sun s rays was given any serious consideration. In that year, a U.S. optical company, Foster Grant, began to develop the idea further. Finally, later that same year, the first pair of sunglasses ever was sold at a Woolworth s store on the Atlantic City boardwalk.
See the potential that the new technology could be beneficial to their pilots, the U.S. Army Air Corps asked another prominent American company, Bausch & Lomb, to develop eyeglasses that would protect the eyes from the sun when a person was flying. It was U.S. Company, Ray Ban, who really ran with the idea. In 1936, using the newest technology of polarized lenses, and a wide frame that offered the utmost protection from the glare of the instrument panel, Ray Ban began to produce a lens that banned the sun s rays. About three years later, this version of sunglass was so popular with pilots; it became readily available to the public. This was when ?aviators? were born.
When Americans grew older, their eyewear came of age as well. During the years when Ray Ban continued its partnership with the Air Force, they created gradient mirror lenses that managed to be both highly practical and stylish at the same time. There was an allure about that American flyer in his tough leather flight jacket and sunglasses that hid his eyes. Ray Ban turned sunglasses sexy.
All the rage in the 1950 s, sunglasses became more than just eye protection. Worn by A list stars and socialites in Vegas, New York, and Hollywood people whose every move was watched and replicated all over the country sunglasses became the fashion accessory. Ray Ban was quick to accommodate the growing trend for interesting designs and colorful frames. These were marketed especially towards women.
Their Wings model of the 70s and 80s was indeed a forerunner to the modern, half frame version of today. With American cop shows, like Starsky & Hutch, and Chips, reigning on TV, the mirrored lenses once popular in the 1940 s, began to reappear. Online shopping is the best way to get them.
