Make up tips for acne coverage?

by admin on Feb.02, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

I have acne scars and noticeable pores, plus the random pimples here and there.
It's not the bad. I've always had mild acne, but it's cleared up a lot since I've started a new system.

I don't need tips on keeping my skin clear or any of that stuff, thats NOT what I'm asking, so don't tell me.

The problem is that my pore often look deeper when I wear make up, and my forehead (which doesn't even have acne, it's just my nose) looks greasy, or it just doesnt look natural.

Would a primer help with a lot of this?
Do you know of any good products that have good coverage and aren't oily or cakey?
Any tips or product ideas would be great! thanks! (:
Answer :————————
use a primer first,
then apply green concealer
(green concealers are to hide blemishes, pimples and redness)
and set it with truculent powder.
apply regular concealer over and set.

you might want to use a liquid foundation,
such as MAC STUDIO FIX or CLINIQUE.

Makeup tips for dark brown hair and green eyes?

by admin on Feb.02, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

Right now I use purple eyeliner because it makes my eyes pop. But I don't know how to do my eyeshadow or what colors. I used purple eyeshadow but it didn't look that great.
Answer :————————
Try different browns, especially chocolate tones. Browns and dark greens with copper or gold highlights are also a great choice.
Apricots and taupes are good choices for highlighters.
Dark purples, plums and metallics work too. Coppers and golds will make a really glamorous evening look for makeup tips for green eyes. I personally really like the way deep purples look with dark green eyes.

First up, blues. Any color of blue doesn't do green eyes justice. I would recommend avoiding light blues, dark blues and even some colors (purples or pinks) with blue undertones.

Pinks are also a hard color to judge. Some can look really, really good and others can look really, really bad. This is usually a matter of trial and error.

Silvers are not a good choice either. Leave them for the blue eyes.

Unless you really like black eyeliner, it's usually a color to avoid. Try steely grays or chocolate browns. Use gold or white to open up the eye if your eyes are small.

What are some cool/funny/weird makeup tips?

by admin on Feb.02, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

Like, just funny things, maybe from around the house. I'll start:

Hot Chocolate powder actually works really well as a bronzer. Whodathunk it?

What are some weird makeup tips that you have heard of or use?
Answer :————————
chapstick & lipgloss works as a good eyeshadow primer.
an old toothbrush is good for exfoliating lips.
if your eyeliner is getting to the point where the sharpener wont work & it is dull, stick it under a fire for a few seconds, then let it cool. then you have brand new eyeliner :)

Psoriasis makeup tips for a young girl?! 10 POINTS!?

by admin on Feb.02, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

My little sister has Psoriasis. She is in 6th grade and people have started to comment and poke fun at her for the stuff on her face. Are there any makeups that would cover the patches without looking cakey. She is young and doesn't need that much, but a little would be nice! HELP!
Answer :————————
Foundation honestly can cover up everything. Since this is a skin condition, you will need a thicker foundation than usual. Go with Dermablend from Ulta, Sephora, and department store makeup counters. This gives amazing coverage and is alot thicker than usual every day foundations. She needs to get the closest match as possible. Here is the link for the website so you can get a feel for if you like it or want to try it out. The before and after pictures say it all:

Makeup!! Help i need some tips!?

by admin on Jan.30, 2010, under Makeup Q & A

Ok so i am 14 and i am a freshmen

I wear mascara and eyeliner with a little bit of powder/concealer.

I wear my eyeliner on the top lid and by the end of the day it is always smeared up my lid…I decided to start putting some powder on my lid to see if that helped..and it does for a while but by the end of the day its still smeared….

what can i do to prevent that?

I use maybelline mascara and eyeliner…L.A. colors powder and elf powder
define-a-lash volume mascara(black) and define-a-line eyeliner (brown)

are there certain makeups that i should use?

thanks
Answer :————————
I have that happen to me as well, and I do use some powder on my eyelid to hopefully lessen the smearing.
What you might try to do is make sure that your eyeliner is done in a really thin line. it might just be that it smears because it makes contact all the time.
